Apologies for being a little lax in my reading and commenting over the last couple of days… I was somewhat diverted in terms of my blog-time, but will be playing catch-up properly later today. No more snow since yesterday morning so I think I’ll try to get a bit of shopping done too… I found a hole in my favourite black jumper last night and I need an emergency replacement. (I spend most of my life in black for some reason or another.) By the way, I quite fancy one of those low turtle (NOT polo) necks… are they a bit naff?
Anyway, last night’s date, then… I drove over to C’s house in the early evening and then we went back up to North London for a drink and something to eat. Conversation was pretty easy, the food was good, it was a nice restaurant… really everything was fine. But it was the strangest feeling as if neither of us really knew what was going on. We didn’t even understand if we were on a date, or just catching up since we last saw each other.
We left the restaurant at around 11.45. Although C was getting texts from her daughter jokingly asking her why she was coming back home, I knew that I had to give us both time to think about what we felt, and whether this was going to be something we pursue in a romantic sense. And the truth is, even this morning I really didn’t know. C say’s that she feels we need to communicate more, and “properly”. I agree with her, although communication isn’t something I ordinarily find difficult. It just shows though, that you can’t take anything for granted.
I’m going to go for a run now because normally when I run I achieve some kind of clarity of thought. I have a feeling that this might be an exception and that I’ll need to just make a decision – give it a go or accept that too much time has passed and move on. And of course C will no doubt be thinking along the same lines.
Oh dear.
Update: I received a text this evening... it said "Hello".
Oh dear again.

How have you been communicating and what's been so "improper" about it? I don't understand that part.
Sounds like two old friends who are catching up and maybe not two new friends trying to find a possible relationship.
But what do I know. Most confusing yes if you're thinking it was a date. Was there a kiss goodnight or just a hug and a friendly "I'll call you"?
Hmm....hope the run cleared the cob-webs.
There was a rather nice kiss goodnight, Kimmy, which just made it all the more confusing!
I have a feeling that you'll be giving it another chance... just count that meeting as one meant for catching up and the next one as a proper date.. I feel you'll both will be a little more comfortable the next time around..
Got the jumper yet?
I've been thinking about this, and from a woman's perspective I think she will have been really confused that you didn't go back to your place. And she may be taking it as a slight rejection. Hence no comment from her, I think she's waiting for you to make the first move. I would probably do the same, so as not to appear too needy.
with love from 'the old embittered bitch!'
Check, that's just what I was thinking...
Zooz - behave yourself. I'm not sure if you're right or not but I won't let it happen again :-)
I'm cracking up laughing at Zoozan's last comment. When a woman says that you need to communicate more it means being honest and open with your feelings. It's a life long work trying to get men to do this more.
I thought I'd provided ample evidence that I'm prepared to be open and honest about my feelings, NML :-)
ugh.
communicating.
ugh.
i suck at it.
here's to whatever you decide.
(can you tell i'm all detatched??)
I have no wise words at all. I am the worst about communicating my truest of feelings early on. The "L" word is something that I fear when I mean it or feel the slightest of flutterings of it.
Hmmm, I'm sure you'll make up for it.
Ugh, glad it is you and not me. On all levels. I think you deserve to be happy T.
xx

Crikey, wdky! Did you say black polo neck jumper. I've come over all unnecessary!
You mean a 'mock turtleneck'. They're fine.
Sounds like a loopy kind of time, and I have NO advice. I can't get my own love/lust life straight, nevermind anyone else's ;)
WDKY, what is a jumper?
WDKY. I think I am falling for you. I hope this does not confuse you but I would like to email you about this as I cannot stop thinking about you.
When I read they way you are with you kids I want to cry. You are so gentle and loving and I admire your ability to be cool in all situations. You have such a witty approach on life and give men such a good name.
All the men in Australia are cold and hopeless at communication. I want to move to London in two years, would you consider swapping emails in the chance of us becoming an item. Some nights I just wish to feel your touch, I get so lonely and have had my time on the internet looking for me. I am in deep pain that the man the fuels the fire in my heart is in London, I wish I could be'C' I do not believe she knows her luck.
I have just moved into a new place as you know and I think I have cabin fever! excuse me for my forward manner but a girl has to make the first move somedays!
Please let me know how you feel x
lol @ the above
J - you know you really have to work on that detastchment.
Ruthie I think the L word might be taking things a bit far... thanks though!
Ginny have a lie down. But. actually, I said not a polo neck.
Darkneuro, yes - that's what I mean. Loop is about right!
Hamrose - apologies. And welcome... and "mad aunt" of Nukies etc etc :-) (Oh, and a jumper is a sweater.)
Honey I think you and I need to have a serious talk. Two years is but the blink of an eye x
Morning Zooz...
hey T.
I dropped you an email about this.
I'm really sorry but this isnt the real honeysmack. There is a troll imitating alot of Australian (particularly Adelaide) bloggers and posting with false identities. unfortunately anyone can sign as any blogger.
He's stealing pics, mocking posts, generally laughing it up at others expense.
He started going through everyones links and is spreading like a herpes infection.
Check your email.
C
C, don't worry about it - you probably realised I wasn't taking it seriously. Still a man can dream... Thanks for the email and keep in touch x
"spreading like a herpes infection"
LOL - Now I know why he's doing this to you Honeysmack *ouch*
Can you please leave this nonsense of my blog "Pete"? If you guys over there in Adelaide get your kicks by upsetting other bloggers so be it, but it's nothing to do with me and I want to keep it that way.
Just testing the comment moderation thing to see if it works...
I had a date rather like that this weekend. The intentions were all positive and clear, yet outside circumstances demanded some time and reflection. it all sounds lovely though, congrats and best of luck
It doesn't!
And thanks HMT - you too.
Sweetie, one day at a time but definitely be honest with her about your feelings even if you don't know what they are. As for you, good thing you don't live closer to me. I would provide some more confusion for ya :P
I'm getting very confused now with all this comment stuff - who's real? who's imitating someone else? It's too hard to follow!
Hmmmm. Sometimes it's hard to pick up where you left off, but then again, if it was meant to be, one would think it wouldn't be TOO hard... you'll know soon enough.
Hey...can I have you number too? I feel like the only one who isn't texting you...lol...
Sky... I'm always honest, as you know. And I'm sure you would ;-)
Cat, forget about it. It's some nonsense over there in Oz.
Blue - I imagine you're right. It's not happening just yet though!
LL - those naked pictures were quite enough to be getting on with, thanks.
LL - thanks but those naked photos were quite enough to be getting on with.
(That's the second time but the first one disappeared on me)
Nonesense???
That honeysmack is going around spreading an STD. I am now the proud owner of a case of herpes. Everyone I try and warn about it gets defensive and protects the little Princess, well I just want peole to know how loose she really is. She is a liar and a ho.
I am just trying to protect my fellow brothers, but hey if you want to support a women spreading a contagious disease then go right ahead.
The girl is nasty and dirty but if you want to be associated with her then it is your choice man.
HEY! Naked photos? MY ASS! I have my innocent reputation to protect here! lol Did you really need to post that twice? lol
Hey...don't you owe me something?
ROFL! Precisely... your beautiful ASS! (What do I owe you, gorgeous?)
