HNT 3.

This is my arm, my right one. On it is a tattoo, and I can tell you that it hurt like f*ck. I have a story about that, but I'll save it for another time... but what I want to know is what the character in the middle actually means. A clue... it's Japanese. And whoever guesses correctly will have the choice of the next part of my anatomy to be exposed, as long as it's not my dick, which is sacred.

As a brief aside, I've always liked the fact the real me is often cloaked by an appearance of conformity... I tread a path through the mainstream of life to earn my crust, but I'm really quite different when you get to know me.

HNTbutton

Happy HNT.

Oh, and my next post will be the tattoo story. Stay tuned.

different good or different bad?

That depends on your point of view, Claire. Bad in a good way, I imagine.

And yours looks super sexy.

I'm not guessing now. *folding arms* lol I got my tatt on my lower back...didn't hurt. Going back for a few more tatts too!

My guess: Friend.

My reason: I have liked Japanese symbols for the past few years and have occasionally browsed symbols and tried to copy down some that I liked, and this one looks a lot like (although I can't completely tell from the picture) the symbol that I have for Friend.

ooh i like the new header! nice!

Are you sure it's Japanese? I think it's also the chinese symbol for friend. Actually, the chinese word friend is made of two symbols and the first is the one you have.

My tatoo didn't hurt (lower back). Then again, I do believe women have a higher tolerance to pain. :-)

In response to Parveneh, from what I've read, there are three are kinds of characters in Japanese writing: two more simplistic kinds of characters that are phoenetic, and then the third, Kanji - which they actually got from China. I think that's the way of it, at least. So the symbols in Chinese and Kanji in Japanese are probably either the same or very similar.

I hope I'm correct in all I've just written, now I have to go google it to check!

BUT, this hopefully means I was right and get to choose your next weeks' picture, WDKY :)

Looks like I'm in your hands, Cat. Be gentle with me... ( and well done Parv, apparently!)

NYM, please don't get your lip, chin or eyebrow pierced.

LL, I'd like to see yours, please.

Sher... I like your thinking. Unlucky!

EJ - thanks!

Sirreene - ditto!!

Very nice tatto. A conventional exterior mixed with an unconventional interior is a lovely thing. And I've always been partial to a tattoo worn under a suit or similar super-conventional attire. Mind you, head to toe tattoos wouldn't be quite so sexy...

I was going to guess that it means "I like shagging" or something equally erotic, but I see I was wrong. :-)

You'll have to wait for my HNT - but don't they say the best things come to those who wait...?

WDKY said...

I'm glad you like that combination. As for waiting, they do say that... and waiting can add to the fun, anyway.

(Spot the anagram... my word verification: exifwe!)

I'm not a tattoo fan myself but I'm probably a wuss...

WDKY said...

Yes, you are a wuss. Why not try a samll one on a bum-cheek? (One of your bum cheeks, I mean.)

Caterpillar said...

Yay!!! I'll email you, so it will be a surprise next week for everyone else.

WDKY said...

I'm simultaneously delighted and terrified ;-)

I like it...:-) I'm a chicken and I won't get a tattoo...totally into piercings though...hmm, don't know why.

Well, I'd say maybe it means Solitude. You are kind of a solitary guy...at least that's what I pick up on. I have Japanese characters on my back that stand for Courage. It's strange how once you tattoo a meaning on your body - you start to believe in the meaning.

that is sooo sexxxy!!!

WDKY said...

UB, what peircings do you have?

You're right, NWC, I'm pretty solitary. I love the sound of your back. "Courage" figures, somehow.

Check, you'll make me blush...

I still remember why I got that tattoo...strangely enough it sort of relates to the title of your blog. The things I thought would surely kill me, didn't. My courage was about all I had left.

WDKY said...

God, I can identify with that! The title of my blog was no accident.

finally forgiving said...

one of them is displayed on my blog for HNT. And the others...well too sacred and too newly pierced for public viewing.

WDKY said...

That's, errr.. some debut!

Good job! I don't have a tattoo but I suppose I could just use a marker and draw something.

WDKY said...

It's Thursday, Sher. Maybe you should let us form our own opinion ;-)

WDKY said...

KOW, don't be such a pansy ;-)

k o w said...

Markers hurt. I'd get a tatoo I just don't know what the hell I'd want. I've got 4 of them drawn up.

WDKY said...

Ah, but I hadn'r met your feet when I posted this one. Obviously I'm now going for another tattoo that means just that!
